Pour cette deuxième édition, 8 auteurs ont été sélectionnés. Issus de tous les horizons - Royaume-Unis, Nouvelle Zélande, France, République de Corée, en passant par l'Italie et les Etats-Unis - ces auteurs nous proposent des créations récentes et parfois d'avant garde. La sélection officielle 2019 permet au spectateur de saisir toute l'étendue des pratiques en Danse Animée, des animations 2D et 3D aux animations expérimentales en passant par la VR et les performances lives et scéniques.

STUDY #1 is a dance and animation collaboration by Gregory Bennett and Jennifer Nikolai. The piece explores choreographic prompts and improvisation utilising 3D digital motion capture and animation technology. The live dancer is inscribed into a 3D visualisation which references both drawing practice such as the sketch, and experimental animation, particularly Len Lye and Norman McLaren and their studies in moving image and sound.

BOOKANIMA, a compound word of ‘Book’ and ‘Anima’, is Experimental Animation to give new cinematic life to book.
It aims to create ‘Book Cinema’ in the third scope between Book and Cinema. Animation links Book to Cinema. Along the way, it experiments Locomotion based on Chronophotography Animation, paying homage for Edward Muybridge and Etienne Jules-Marey.
It experiments locomotion of Dance along with its stream: Ballet-Korean dance-Modern dance-Jazz dance-Aerial Silk-Tap dance-Aerobic-Disco-Break dance-Hip hop-Social dance.

Référence aux temps bénis contés par la mythologie grecque où Hommes et Dieux vivaient ensemble en harmonie, « L’Âge d’or » est un moyen-métrage mettant en scène la rencontre d’enfants handicapés moteur et de danseurs. Les enfants se voient dotés de lunettes de réalité virtuelle, qui leur permettent de voir en temps réel ce que voient les danseurs. Exaltant les particularités physiques et sensibles des enfants, le dispositif nous fait progressivement glisser dans un monde de fiction. A l’intérieur des lunettes de ces derniers vibrent les images d’une autre ère, onirique et partagée, dont ils semblent être les demi-dieux. C’est l’avènement d’un nouvel Âge d’Or.

ViMotion is an interactive dance show which overturns the traditional scheme where dancers enact a choreography over a fixed musical base. In ViMotion, with their movements on stage dancers are directly influencing projected images and played music, thus creating a strong connection between visuals, music and dance.
The bodies of the dancers and their movements are tracked by an infrared camera for real time graphics.
