Ilana crée des animations danses en aquarelle. Elle explore ici les mouvements féminins de funk carioca. En période d’isolement, le travail sur Internet est devenu une adaptation du processus de l’artiste qui, jusqu’alors, créait des animations à partir de ses propres séquences filmées. "Olhe-se" (Look at Yourself) reprend le nom d’une chanson de Karol Conka, l’un des chanteurs funk de Rio qui aborde le féminisme comme sujet.

BIOGRAPHIE

Ilana Paterman Brasil (Rio de Janeiro, 1982) is post-graduated in Media Arts by Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, and graduated in Design by Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (ESDI/UERJ). The universe of traditional cultures of Brazil is her field of work: dances and gestures are registered and transformed into watercolour animations. Currently, Ilana is doing a PhD in Design at ESDI/UERJ, integrating LaDA (Laboratory of Design and Anthropology).
