BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1972. Lives and works in Marseille, France. Michaël Cros is a transdisciplinary artist who questions the body, whether human or non-human, by combining puppet arts, contemporary dance and digital arts. For about twenty years, his creations and experiments materialize on stage, on screen or in the form of an exhibition. After graduating from Beaux-Arts Schools of Marseille and Lyon, he began his creative work at La Méta-Carpe in 2003.

In addition to the technical skills related to the mediums used, he has acquired over the years an expertise in the direction of artistic projects and in the implementation of collaborative creative processes. Influenced by the Ecological Humanities, M. Cros invites other artists from different backgrounds, but also anthropologists, ethologists, and philosophers. These encounters between art and science occur at different phases of his creative process. They give meaning to his work.
His taste for transmission leads him to regularly share his research with different audiences, children, students, disabled people, amateurs of all ages.
Since 2007 and through several types of medium, he 's been developing a coherent world, strange and worrying, composed of hybrid, mechanized, dark and vegetable bodies. These aberrant life forms allow him to question our human condition, its possible futures and its borders (somewhere between the animal kingdom and the world of machines). His visual creations were shown in Vanessa Quang gallery in Paris between 2007 and 2015.

Since 2007, his shorts films have been distributed by Videographe in Montreal.
